Kate's Elegant Wedding Dress is Here!

Watching the recent Royal Wedding with great interest, we finally got to see the gown created by designer Sarah Burton, from the house of Alexander McQueen.

Image from Catherine Middleton and Prince William's Wedding on April 29, 2011

Naturally, at Haberman Fabrics, we were so excited and inspired by Catherine Middleton's (now known as the Duchess of Cambridge) wedding gown that we simply had to make our own!

Patty Weir, our Bridal Manager, designed and created a dress inspired by Sarah Burton's beautiful handiwork. Using Vogue Pattern 2979 as a base with a bit of altering, and beautiful silk satins and fine French laces from our Bridal Salon, Patty was able to create this amazing gown:

The dress is currently displayed in the front of our Bridal Salon. If you stop by our store, you can view the dress in person. We just love it, and think you will too!

FREE DIY Seminar in November

Feeling like your chairs are a little drab? Perhaps they're starting to show some wear and aging. An easy and relatively inexpensive way to bring life back into your old chairs is to give them a new seat cover.

Not sure how to do it? Well, stop by our store on November 4th or 6th to come and view a FREE Do-It-Yourself demonstration on how to re-cover a chair seat.

We are also featuring a special 20% OFF Foam and Batting on each of the demo days to help you out with your own project! The offer is only applicable on November 4th and 6th, with in-store merchandise only.

Haberman Fabrics at the American Sewing Expo in Novi

This past weekend Haberman Fabrics participated at the American Sewing Expo that took place at the Rock Financial Center in Novi, Michigan! The Expo educated, inspired, and entertained thousands of sewers with shopping, classes, fashion shows, contests, and exhibits.

At the Expo, we featured a miniature version of our store in Royal Oak, bringing as many unique, stylish, and designer fabrics as we could fit in the space provided. Needless to say, our booth was packed.

This didn't stop our customers though! Sewers from near and far packed the booth, delighted to find inspiration, great fabrics and values for their new projects.
