This past weekend Haberman Fabrics participated at the American Sewing Expo that took place at the Rock Financial Center in Novi, Michigan! The Expo educated, inspired, and entertained thousands of sewers with shopping, classes, fashion shows, contests, and exhibits.
At the Expo, we featured a miniature version of our store in Royal Oak, bringing as many unique, stylish, and designer fabrics as we could fit in the space provided. Needless to say, our booth was packed.
This didn't stop our customers though! Sewers from near and far packed the booth, delighted to find inspiration, great fabrics and values for their new projects.
Haberman Fabrics' talented staff made and displayed model garments representing Fall fashion trends.
- Military influence
- Retro 50's/60's styles...flared skirts, coats, gloves, purses and sweaters
- Fur and Shearling (faux and real) in exaggerated trims, vests and purses
- The colors green, black, teal, blue, gray and camel
- Wonderful knits
- Capes and coats
- Lace, tweeds and textures
- Ruffles
- Surprising contemporary combinations of fabrics like sequins and menswear
The American Sewing Expo also featured the Passion For Fashion Sewing Challenge, a "Project Runway-like" contest. Twelve semi-finalists were given a challenge to create garments inspired by models of iconic American cars that they chose. We were excited that most of the contestants used our fabrics.
Congratulations to all the contestants and winners!
Whether you saw us during the show or were unable to attend, we hope that you'll visit our wonderful store in Royal Oak, Michigan for sewing inspiration and our unique fabrics.
Happy Sewing!
