Kate's Elegant Wedding Dress is Here!

Watching the recent Royal Wedding with great interest, we finally got to see the gown created by designer Sarah Burton, from the house of Alexander McQueen.

Image from Catherine Middleton and Prince William's Wedding on April 29, 2011

Naturally, at Haberman Fabrics, we were so excited and inspired by Catherine Middleton's (now known as the Duchess of Cambridge) wedding gown that we simply had to make our own!

Patty Weir, our Bridal Manager, designed and created a dress inspired by Sarah Burton's beautiful handiwork. Using Vogue Pattern 2979 as a base with a bit of altering, and beautiful silk satins and fine French laces from our Bridal Salon, Patty was able to create this amazing gown:

The dress is currently displayed in the front of our Bridal Salon. If you stop by our store, you can view the dress in person. We just love it, and think you will too!

DIY Demo Success!

Thank you to all who joined us last week for our Seat Cover Reupholstering Demonstration - "Give Your Seat a Facelift"! We had quite a few students show up to see how simple and easy covering a chair seat really is.

Did you miss our seminar? Well don't worry, we have the directions up on our website under or "Projects and Tips - Learn to Recover a Dining Chair Seat". There you'll find a list of supplies, as well as directions, for recovering a chair seat.

Still itching to learn more?

We still have classes available for both kids and adults, click here to view our list of available classes!

Happy sewing!
